23/08/2009Pedalling Picnic
more »
Come and have a fun bike ride. The route is yet to be decided but it will be about 5 miles long and designed with families in mind. Also those who would like to dust down their bicycles and get cycling again. The route will be along quiet roads there will be a stop somewhere nice to have a picnic.
This event is organised by Sustrans and Sustainable Brampton and is the start of a scheme to get Brampton back on its bikes.
On the 16th August, the Sunday before the ride, hopefully Mike Lee from Palace Cycles from Carlisle will be doing a Dr Bike surgery at the Moot Hall where you will be able to get your bike checked over and make sure it is fit and well for the ride. Mike is happy to give free advice on basic maintenance and care of your bike, even if you are unable to go to the Pedalling Picnic. He will be bringing along spare parts just in case they are needed but they would need to be paid for.
Look out for posters and information nearer the time. In the mean time if you would like to register your interest then leave your name at the Community Centre with a contact number and you will be contacted with final details.
